Teaching and research at the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures (Faculty of Humanities) focus on the cultures and literatures of Spain, Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as on the history, structure and varieties of the Spanish language worldwide. The department is responsible for delivering the Bachelor’s degree programme in Spanish, as well as the Master’s degree programmes in Spanish Language and Literature and in Teaching Spanish, and the specialist Master’s programme in Atlantic Studies.
The Department of Romance Languages at Leibniz University Hannover trains students to become teachers of Spanish in both vocational and secondary schools, as well as offering the M.A in Atlantic Studies in History, Culture & Society – an interdisciplinary master’s programme that is unique in Germany.
